The Seattle Lighthouse is a private, not-for-profit agency providing employment, support, and training opportunities for people who are blind, Deaf-Blind, and blind with other disabilities.
Housing Support Program Statement of Purpose

Housing Support Program and Services
Housing specialist activities include:
- Support with application to local subsidy programs that reduce the cost of living
- Assistance applying for suitable housing
- Identifying apartments matching blind and Deaf-Blind consumer performances and budget
- Site visits available for Lighthouse employees
Eligibility
Services are available to blind and Deaf-Blind employees. Information and referrals are also available to Deaf-Blind community members.
Funding
Housing support is funded primarily through community support. Community support includes financial contributions from local corporations, foundations, service organizations and individuals. Recipients of services do not pay fees. Other funding comes from manufacturing and sale of Lighthouse products.
All community support for Lighthouse programs is channeled through the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation, whose sole purpose is to gather community support for fulfillment of the Seattle Lighthouse mission.
