Title: Delivery Driver-eExpress
Department: Base Supply Center
Reports to: eExpress Store Manager (Fort Lewis)
Hours: Part-time, 20-30 hours/week
Summary:
Delivers web and store orders to customers. Attains customer signature upon receipt of goods. Provides customer service, follow-up and troubleshoots customer problems as they occur. Strives to deliver “next day” service by offering suggestions and ideas to improve efficiency and operations. Goal is 7 9 deliveries per hour. This is a physical job that requires constant attention to safety in order to create a workplace culture that minimizes and/or eliminates injury to employees and customers as well as damage to equipment or property.
Responsibilities:
- Operates company owned equipment and vehicles safely.
- Load orders by customer location and verifies that order content matches paperwork.
- Assures that vehicle is loaded safely, protecting products from transit damage by securing with straps as needed.
- Confirms delivery address and may schedule appointment with customer.
- Delivers orders from truck. Never leaves vehicle unsecured when stepping away to deliver no matter how quick.
- Maintains delivery, vehicle inspection and route logs as required.
- Operates material moving equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.
- May unload freight carriers (as needed).
- May support warehouse operations.
- Immediately reports any accidents or incidents as well as mechanical breakdowns.
- Assists with routine office functions if needed.
- Supports the Lighthouse Mission.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 year’s warehouse or delivery experience, preferred.
- Good Customer Service Skills.
- Good math skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license. (Must provide driving record abstract and maintain clean driving record and remain insurable.)
- Ability to deal effectively and courteously with management, customers and co-workers.
- Must use good judgment with ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
- Must dress appropriately (uniform requirements may apply).
- Ability to work as a dependable member of a team.
- Prior experience within a retail store or with military a plus.
- Able to lift up to 60 lbs, stand on concrete floors, bend, stretch, reach overhead, work in a warehouse and outdoor environment where temperatures cannot be controlled.
