Job Announcement
Title: Store Clerk
Reports to: Base Supply Center Manager
Location: McChord AFB, Fort Lewis Washington,
NAS Fallon Nevada, andNAWS China Lake, California
Hours: Part-Time, to 30 hrs per
week, flexible schedule. Monday through Friday; some Saturdays possible.
At this time applications are
being accepted only from persons who are legally blind.
Responsibilities:
á
Greets
customers. Makes effort to
remember customerÕs first name and talk with them to gain insight on their
buying patterns and needs.
á
Assist
customers with special order requests.
á
Sales
transactions, backorders, returns, damaged goods and store transfers are all
performed in reference to procedures based on current policies and good accounting
practices.
á
Operates
computer/cash register for sales.
Accurately scans each UPC tag/merchandise for customer purchases.
á
Maintain
transaction records and receipts.
á
Stocks
merchandise by observing last-in, first-out method of stock rotation with special
attention to dated goods with expiration dates.
á
Answers
phones, assists customers with routine questions and inquiries or directs calls
to appropriate personnel.
á
May
assist in designing product displays or assembling displays based on
plan-o-grams or other instructions.
á
Assist
customers with product selection and may advise customers regarding product use
based on manufacturing technical data.
á
Assist
store manager or other personnel in receiving merchandise.
á
Pack
customer purchases and assist in loading merchandise into customer vehicle as
required.
á
Other
duties as assigned.
Requirements:
á
High
School diploma or equivalent.
á
Ability
to operate computerized cash registers and related office equipment with a high
degree of accuracy.
á
Ability
to lift up to 60 lbs through-out shift.
Must demonstrate safe lifting techniques to avoid injury.
á
Must
be able to stand for long periods.
Must stoop, stretch, reach and bend and lift large, over-sized packages
frequently during shift.
á
May
assist with deliveries to customer locations.
á
Proven
ability to deal pleasantly and courteously with management, customers and
co-workers, by telephone, written correspondence and in person.
á
Ability
to work effectively as a team member.
á
Must
follow all base regulations to maintain admittance to military installation.
