Job Announcement

Title: ECS Support Services Manager
Department: ECS
Reports To: Training & Employee Support Director
Hours: Full-time, day-shift, M-F

Summary:

The primary functions of this position are the following: oversee and coordinate support services for the Lighthouse and INL employees who are blind; make appropriate referrals to community agencies; and to oversee management of the Supported Employment Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, plan and ensure timely delivery of assigned support service areas, including housing.
  • Coordinate and manage information and referral systems; refer employees to appropriate resources both internally and in the community.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with service providers in the Seattle area; serve as liaison.
  • Develop and maintain contacts with service providers in the Spokane area (INL).
  • Supervise contractors as needed (INL & Seattle).
  • Oversee management of Supported Employment Program, including direct supervision of Supported Employment Supervisor.
  • Coordinate with Employee and Community Services staff, and Human Resources staff to conduct effective outreach to Lighthouse employees and prospective employees for appropriate services coordination.
  • Maintain files, provide documentation, data collection, reports and summaries as needed.
  • Maintain excellent communication with Production, HR, and others who provide aspects of support and training such as Orientation & Mobility instructors and Computer Training Program staff.
  • Develop annual budgets and work plans.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated excellence in management and supervisory skills.
  • Program management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support others in learning to advocate for themselves; support others to succeed.
  • Knowledge of housing programs.
  • Ability to problems solve effectively.
  • Creativity & flexibility; able to change approach as needed.
  • Ability to take initiative, function autonomously and dependability.
  • Ability to travel between Spokane and Seattle once per month.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and enthusiastically about the programs and services we offer.
  • Willingness to learn about blindness resources nationally.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and interpersonal skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Internet Explorer.
  • BA or BS in Rehab, Social Services or related field.
  • 3 years in disability related field with emphasis on advocacy.
  • Mature judgment and sensitivity in regards to interpersonal relations and among diverse groups.
  • Background in the areas of housing, transportation, and employment is a strong plus.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
