Job Announcement

Title: Set-up Specialist-Brake Press
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Manager
Hours: Full-time, 7:25 AM-3:55 PM, M-F

Summary:

Set-up manufacturing equipmenst such as: brake presses, riveters, and drills.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece and setup requirements from work-orders, blueprints, drawings, manuals, specifications, templates or verbal instructions
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as brake presses, drill-presses, and riveters
  • Assigns operators to specific jobs, providing assistance and monitoring for quality and efficiency.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work pieces to specifications
  • Confers with other set-ups leads, and supervision to resolve manufacturing or assembly problems
  • Ensures the adherence to production safety and health standards, policies and procedures by monitoring personnel, machinery and work environment

Requirements:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • One to four years of production experience.
  • Ability to understand policies, procedures and carry-out complex instructions and clearly give feedback and information to co-workers
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing geometry and math skills, such as decimals and fractions.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Outlook programs:
  • Independent, accurate use of precision measuring tools
  • Understand work-orders, blueprints, tooling and department workflow
  • Working knowledge of quality system concepts and procedures           
  • Beginning American Sign Language skills, preferred
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Stand up to 8 hours, with standard rest-periods
  • Ability to perform work assignments requiring repetitive motion
