“I am delighted with my award,” says Dana Marmion, Customer Service Representative, Custom Business Products.  “It was so nice for people to nominate me. I was overwhelmed when I found out.”

Dana began working in the Seattle Lighthouse Customer Service Department six years ago.  “I started out working with federal customers who were primarily ordering business cards and rubber stamps,” she recalls.  “Lately, my job has been expanded.  I now work with customers buying all of our personalized, Custom Business Products and our Awards and Recognition items.”  She also works with buyers from Base Service Centers around the country who purchase products made here in Seattle.

In order to access her customer database and read printed and handwritten order information, Dana employs several different types of assistive technology.  Her computer is equipped with a screen magnification and voice output program called ZoomText as well as a flat-screen monitor.  Dana uses a closed circuit television (CCTV) to magnify written materials.

Dana’s President’s Award nomination form, submitted by one of her co-workers, reads in part:

I feel Dana has done a great many services for this organization.  She not only does her work as a customer service representative but also handles the orders for custom business products and has assisted with getting contracts that not only employ people here at the Lighthouse but also other agencies throughout the country.  Dana is a busy individual, but always has time to answer questions and is a joy to work with.
