Donations to Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation Provide Training, Technology, and Employment
The newly formed Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation was created for the sole purpose of supporting the mission and activities of the Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. All gifts made to the Foundation will support Lighthouse programs.
Community support of the Foundation provides the technology and training that help blind and Deaf-Blind people achieve independence. Generous private donations help fund the purchase of assistive devices such as screen-reading programs, computer Braille displays, and electronic travel and communication aids.
The following sixty-seven community donors to the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation recently gave $97,853.94 to fund the technology, training, and employment that promote independence and self-sufficiency of people who are blind, Deaf-Blind, and blind with other disabilities:

Community Rallies ‘Round Deaf-Blind Retreat
This year, generous gifts from the community helped make our twenty-sixth Deaf-Blind retreat a truly outstanding experience.
The theme for this year’s retreat was “Go For It!” Sixty-four Deaf-Blind people from throughout the U.S. and one hundred and twenty-nine volunteers took part in this unique opportunity to go the distance and challenge themselves.
Seventy-four community members, including foundations, corporations, and individuals, donated $17,826 to the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind in support of the retreat. We offer our sincere thanks to the following donors for making this exceptional experience possible:
