Seattle Lighthouse Donors Honored in Special Lighthouse Event
The Seattle Lighthouse honored the commitment and dedication of Lighthouse supporters at a special donor recognition event held September 10th, 2006 in Ethel L. Dupar’s Fragrant Garden.
Almost seventy donors attended this event where they enjoyed the chance to socialize, explore the fragrant garden, and purchase art pieces in a small silent art auction. President George Jacobson served as Master of Ceremonies while Employee of the Year Deng Kong was the keynote speaker.
“The main purpose of the event is simply to say thank you to our supporters in the community,” says Kirk Adams, general manager of administration. “Without their commitment to the mission and generosity in giving we would be unable to provide jobs, training, and support to people who are blind and Deaf-Blind. It was also a great opportunity for donors, board members, and Lighthouse staff to get to know each other a bit better on a beautiful sunny afternoon.”
We extend our thanks to the many generous donors who help to preserve and expand opportunities for people who are blind, Deaf-Blind, and blind with other disabilities.
