Gifts to the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation Promote Independence and Opportunity

The newly formed Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation was created for the sole purpose of supporting the mission and activities of the Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. All gifts made to the Foundation will support Lighthouse programs.

Generous community support of the Foundation has provided such critical programs as Deaf-Blind community classes where people who are Deaf-Blind can freely communicate and connect with one another, computer training programs helping blind students gain the skills needed to compete in today’s job market, and new employment opportunities offering a living wage to people who are blind and Deaf-Blind. The following 614 community donors to the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation have recently given $151,772.56 to fund the services, training, support, and employment that promote independence and self-sufficiency of people who are blind, Deaf-Blind, and blind with other disabilities:

Seattle Lighthouse Donors Honor Loved Ones

Many financial supporters of the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation choose to honor their loved ones by making special gifts.  Recently, we have been privileged to receive gifts in the names of the following individuals:

Donors Support Deaf-Blind Technology Training Center

Thanks to the generosity of individuals and organizations in our community, we are able to provide computer training and access to technology for Deaf-Blind individuals through our Deaf-Blind Technology Training Center (TTC). The TTC is one of only two programs in the nation offering computer training and technology expressly for people who are Deaf-Blind. Through the TTC, Deaf-Blind individuals are able to access education and information directly on the Internet, set up appointments independently on-line, and communicate with family and friends via email, often for the first time by any means.  We would like to offer our sincere thanks to these generous donors for making this extraordinary program possible. The following 119 individuals provided $4,877 of support for the TTC through the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind Foundation this year:
