Tour Ethel L. Dupar’s Fragrant Garden

Summer is the peak time to explore fragrant foliage at the Seattle Lighthouse. Join Master Gardener Helen Weber on a tour of Ethel L. Dupar’s Fragrant Garden and discover such unique plants as mountain mint varieties, known for their folklore and medicinal qualities, and scented geraniums with fragrances ranging from rose to chocolate mint.

According to Helen, tour guests can look forward to the following experiences on this tour of one of the most unique gardens in the Northwest. “I will introduce tour guests to all the plants. We’ll have them handling at least thirty to forty plants. Most gardens don’t want you to touch the plants at all, but this garden is specifically designed to have you handle the foliage. So I often take my clippers and snip off a twig to pass around, so you can really get a hands-on feel for the foliage.”
